When you click on the course name link (Principles of Economics I, Principles of Economics II, Business Mathematics or Elementary Algebra) or the course number link (ECON 2313, ECON 2323, MATH 1013, MATH 1023, MATH 1123, or EDUC 1313 ) you will access a website created for these courses. You must be accepted as a "Member" before you can access the information on the websites. Follow the instructions provided in class for applying for membership - by clicking on "Join Now" and providing the information requested. Please access the "Join Now" link and apply for "Membership" using your REGISTERED NAME. After you are accepted as a "Member", take some time to review the various links and the information provided. The time spent now is a worthwhile investment of your time. The links on the left side of the website will direct you to various information such as the course syllabus, course schedule, our contract, Homework examples, my Chapter Lecture Notes and supplemental files, class members, and a "Messages" link we can use to communicate.

Graphing Skills

Syracuse University provides two excellent websites to develop and review your "Graphing Skills" by accessing the following links:

  • Graphs and Mathematical Tutorial is a site developed by Syracuse University's Learning Center. You will need to become familiar with these concepts as we will utilize these skills throughout all these courses.
  • Graph Skills for Introductory Economics is a site developed by Dr. Evensky that students taking either Economics course should master. Good graphing skills are essential to the study of Economics.

Make a Commitment to Excellence! There's a saying that goes like this: "if your heart is not in it, excellence is not possible". As in most things in life, you will get out of this course what you put into it. This means keeping up to date with your readings and assignments, studying with others, paying attention to events in the news, and making intellectual contributions. Make a commitment to do the very best you can ... the rewards are worth the efforts!
