Dietary Management Technology

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
To prepare dietary and food service management trainees for entry-level positions in a wide range of food establishments, including: restaurants, fast food operations, cafeterias, hospitals, nursing/retirement homes, and private clubs. Program graduates are eligible to sit for the credentialing examination offered through the Dietary Managers Association (DMA) to become Certified Dietary Managers (CDM).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
High School (or GED Equivalency) Diploma

The selection process for admission is open through general registration and is based on first come first enrolled until class capacity is reached. Only students who meet special admission requirements will be allowed to register.

SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. High school (or GED equivalency) Diploma
  2. Complete Southeast Arkansas College Admission Application and the Nursing and Allied Health Ap0plication.

* Meets theory and internship requirements to sit for the Dietary Manager certification exam offered through the DMA.

NOTE: Acceptable ASSET, ACT, COMPASS, or TABE scores may waive the English and math course requirements for one-year technical certificate programs.
