Welcome to the Office of Institutional Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness web site of Southeast Arkansas College.

To help you better understand the importance of this web site, let me brief you on the importance of the role of assessment of student academic achievement in evaluating the effectiveness of the College as a whole. SEARK College believes that teaching and learning are at the very core of all of the College’s activities. Assessment therefore, comprises all of the activities and processes which affect student learning.

Assessment is one of the major tools used by SEARK College to improve and maintain the quality of education and services that are provided to our customers (students). Therefore, assessment is the responsibility of every person involved with the College including administration, faculty, staff, students, and even the community.

Assessment data for 2003-2004 is published in THE FOCUS - ISSUE #5 as an update to the 2002-2003 Annual Report on Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness. The 2002-2003 report was comprehensive and remains accessible to the public at http://www.seark.edu/assess/Annual_Report_July_2003.pdf. Both reports highlight data which demonstrates that SEARK College students are achieving great strides in meeting academic challenges. The report further shows evidence that Assessment of student academic achievement is a priority for the entire SEARK College community. This commitment is shown by the level of involvement of every division and department of the College.

Should you have specific concerns or questions regarding assessment, please contact Diann Williams, Vice President of Assessment & Institutional Effectiveness and Nursing/Allied Health by email (dwilliams@seark.edu).
