Computer Certification

SEARK College is bringing you numerous computer certification programs.  This is an ongoing effort to provide southeastern Arkansas with the highest quality and most in demand training and educational opportunities.  The programs currently offered are described below.

Program Degree or Certification

Computer Network Technology
This is a two-year college credit program currently underway at SEARK.  For more information, click here.

The Computer Network Technology program is an Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) and Technical Certificate (TC) program that prepares the student for the CNA (Certified Novell Administrator) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certifications.  Several of the courses also relate to MCP certification.
The Cisco Academy
the Cisco Local Academy began in the Fall of 1999 and continues each semester as part of the Computer Network Technology program.  For more information, click here.
The Cisco Academy is part of the Computer Network Technology program noted above.  The Cisco Local Academy prepares the student for the CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate), whereas the Cisco Regional Academy prepares the student for the CCNP certification (Cisco Certified Network Professional).

Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS)
This began in the Fall 1999 Semester
& continues in the Business Technology programs and the Workforce Development Center. For more information, click here.

These courses prepare the student to sit for the MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) certification exams, Proficient/Core or Expert level, as sponsored by Microsoft for the Microsoft Office applications or Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Information Systems Technology
This is a two-year program for students desiring to be computer programmers.  For more information, click here.
The Information Systems Technology is an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree and Technical Certificate (TC) program that helps students to prepare for the MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) as sponsored by Microsoft and other related programming certifications.
The PC Maintenance and Repair program is part of the Computer Network Technology program. For more information, click here. Students completing the PC Maintenance & Repair program will be award a Technical Certificate. This program prepares the student to sit for the A+ Certification exam as sponsored by Comp TIA.
Internet & Web Technology
A one-semester certificate is awarded in Web Design and both one-year and two-years awards are provided in Internet & Web Technology. For more information, click Web Design or Internet-Web Technology.
Students completing the one-semester track (12 hours) are awarded the Certificate of Proficiency in Web Design. A Technical Certificate and Associate of Applied Science degree are awarded in Internet & Web Technology. These programs map to CompTIA's Inet+ certification and numerous CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) certifications.
