The SEARK College Student Ambassadors recently volunteered at Pine Bluff’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor by serving lunch to community residents. The students worked in the kitchen assisting with cleaning food trays, washing dishes, working the serving line and cleaning the dining area. Nerva Copeland, Advisor for the Student Ambassadors stated that she “really appreciated the hard work of the Student Ambassadors and enjoyed seeing them in action. The students really enjoyed volunteering and they are eager to work again”
Neighbor-to-Neighbor provides community information and acts as a referral service for those in need as well operates a food pantry for the low-income elderly and those in need of emergency food. The program serves lunch to approximately 2,500-3,000 people a month. Approximately 125 individuals were served on Friday including men, women and children.
