You can include academic transfer courses alongside technical and career-focused coursework, creating a program that reflects your specific educational goals.
The AGS can be appropriate for students pursuing continued education, preparing for employment, or combining academic and technical studies.
What You'll Study
Your program of study is individualized and includes a combination of general education and general and technical studies electives.
The degree requires at least 15 semester credit hours of general education coursework, with the remaining coursework selected to support your approved course of study.
Your plan must be approved in writing by the Dean of General Studies and your assigned faculty advisor.
Transfer, Career & Educational Goals
The AGS can be designed to support a variety of goals, including:
- Transfer preparation — Select coursework that may apply toward a bachelor's degree. Students planning to transfer should consult the receiving institution about the transferability of individual courses.
- Career preparation — Combine academic coursework with technical and career-focused courses.
