At Southeast Arkansas College (SEARK), our Housing team is more than just a place to stay — it’s a place to grow, connect, and succeed. We're looking for passionate student leaders to join our team as Resident Assistants (RAs) for the upcoming academic year!
Our mission in SEARK Housing is to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging living environment that encourages academic success and positive peer connections. As an RA, you’ll be a key player in building this community — while gaining valuable leadership experience, personal growth, and great benefits.
What is a Resident Assistant (RA)
RAs are student leaders who live on campus and serve as role models, peer mentors, and community builders. The position runs for one full academic year (Fall and Spring semesters), including training, move-in/move-out periods, and break coverage.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities of an RA
- Support students during their transition to college life
- Build strong, positive relationships with residents
- Oversee a diverse group of students on your floor
- Promote and enforce campus and housing policies
- Serve on an on-call rotation (including nights/weekends)
- Respond to emergencies and provide crisis support
- Plan and lead community engagement programs
- Act as a liaison between residents and administration
- Submit timely reports (incidents, maintenance, etc.)
- Help with check-in/out and administrative housing duties
- Connect residents with helpful campus resources
✅ Qualifications to become an RA
- Maintain a 2.75 GPA or higher throughout employment
- Show strong problem-solving and leadership skills
- Are involved on campus or in the community
- Have excellent organization and time management
- Can commit to the full academic year

- Free Room & Board
- Tuition & Fees covered (up to 12 credit hours)
